Solved Compressor Valve Centre Bolt Breakage:
Chronic centre bolt breakage occurring in first-stage compression on a pair of Gemini compressors critical to natural gas compression operations for a central Alberta production company. Third party investigation determined the compressors had high vibrations that could not be economically resolved.
Chinook proposed an in-house designed Chinook-Style breech lock compressor valve, eliminating the use of centre bolts as well as removing other problematic non-consumable steel valve components. The Chinook Compressor Valve design was optimized through in-house operation analysis for the customer’s location to ensure valve performance and reliability to improve life and throughput.
Problem Solved. Chinook-Style Compressor Valves have been running for several years without centre bolt breakage.
